Frank in the Classroom

I made this fun Frankenstein Monster journal as an example for my Special Education classroom as we made these. We read Frankenstein by Mary Shelley for the month of October and wrote in our journals as we read. I was lucky to have all the supplies on hand from my store (:
Journals made by my students -didn't they do a great job!!!! When we are finished with our book, they will take these home to share with their families. I have to say between these and my Frankenstein earrings we have been very excited about this classic story. My students don't know it but when we finish our story and take our final test on this book, we will enjoy a green treat of some sort. I would like to make it to target to pick up the small jones soda Frankenstein sodas.

Teaching Binder

Yes, I know that I should be enjoying my last few weeks of summer-not thinking about work, but it has been soooo HOT here that inside activities like creating a cute Teacher Binder are most appropriate. I have looked at many Teacher Binders online but this cover is my design (: I LOVE owls and flowers so this will be fun to use. I also laminated the cover so I could transfer it if the binder broke from being overused, hehe. The owl is a stamp from my store and the printing was done on the computer with my favorite Handwriting font. I distressed the front with ink and added ribbon and flowers as embellishments. I colored the owl with copics (: I need to work on the cuteness of the inside now (:

Organization In One Month! Oh My!

Yes, I have been away from my Blog for a long time. It is really due to a chicken with her head cut off lifestyle. I am sick of my lack of organizational skills and crazy busy life, so I am working this summer to "get my act together" and develop some systems - better yet embellished altered systems to make my next school year more sane/pretty for all of us. Above you will see the outside of an altered binder using paper and supplies from my store, I cut the words The Crossley Family Binder using my Cricut. Inside you would find what I need to stay sane and from looking around the web this is different for everyone. i used Avery dividers and printed my labels with a handwriting font that looks so cute! I also printed in dark red (: It's the details that are special sometimes. This is what my binder needed but you may need other categories.
I needed to keep these areas together:
Menu Plans
School
Birthdays
Dance-A place to put tickets as well after I LOST $60 worth of them last month, ugh
Sports - Soccer and Basketball
Cub Scouts
Girl Scouts
This is also going to grow as my life is really complicated!
*We also already have a financial binder but that is its own monster, yuck.

The Good Life, No Really!

Sorry about the leaf covering part of this card, ugh. I honestly didn't want to re-take the picture (: The card was colored with Copics and the flower is covered in Flower Soft. This image will be in my store soon and you know I am your Copics hook-up wink wink. Anyway, I hope you like my card and are thinking positive. My life is stress, stress, stress but so good all at the same time. Off to steam clean my carpet with bleach, don't ask.

Owl in the Backyard

I'm on Spring Break! I even had a chance to teach a Copic's class over the weekend, yay (: We had so much fun and this is one of the images we worked on. I put him on a card today. I have a sweet owl in my backyard that hoots me to sleep every night and this image from Prima reminds me of him. I am an animal lover, so all the images I colored with my class were animals (their choice too). I was also inspired to "pick out" a few new stamps from my store...I try to not have one of everything from my stamping/scrapbook store, ugh. I am excited to take them into my craft closet and color tonight! I just LOVE having the week off. I hope you enjoy this (:

I'm Still Alive!

I am still alive! Yes, I am but I have returned to my past career as a Special Education Teacher. Things will get easier in a few months, but right now I am on a learning curve after being out for 11 years! I still have my store and Copic Club so life is REALLY busy for me. I do want yo find some time to play in my craft room soon, I miss it. I also miss all my online friends.
I will be back soon!
Hugs, Julie

Christmas Mail CASE

I made this card with a new stamp set from Crafty Secrets that I just added to my online store. This stamp set is very affordable with so many images to use!!! I did CASE this card from a Crafty Secrets DT member here. It is not an exact CASE but I was inspired by many of the elements on her card. Of course I colored with Copics (see color list on yesterdays post). The cardstock is AC and the paper I stamped/colored on was X-Press all from my store.
I think this will do it for Christmas in July (: With 100 degree temperatures here it was a nice escape from the extreme heat. I may have to get an iced mocha coffee at Mokka coffee shop today (:
Thanks for stopping by and Stay Cool!

Happy Hoppers Buzzy Friends Forever (BFF)

This is a card I made for SCS Teapot Tuesday. The destination Station is a lady recently diagnosed with cancer. I will be sending her this cheerful card along with some goodies taht I hope she will enjoy.
The Teapot challenge was to be about bees and flowers, so I was really excited to pull this cute stamp out! I used Summer paper by echo park all items from my online store. I used a white Prima so I could match the purple Copic colors found in the stamped flower. The button in the middle of the flower is basic grey. The word smile is an old $ stamp I picked up years ago.

I hope this fun card brought a smile to your face today and let's pretend I am sharing my flower with you (:

I'm still here

Just a sad note that my Grandpa passed away this past week and I developed strep throat on top of all the stress. I am looking forward to next week and feeling better again so I can stamp and color my worries away (: Just wanted all my friends in Blogger Land to know why I have been MIA.

Patchwork Fun

I made this card for this weeks TLC challenge on Splitcoaststampers. I am having trouble shrinking my picture size to fit in the SCS Gallery, ugh. I used basic grey paper (patchwork type pattern), bg buttons, a house mouse stamp colored with Copics on X-Press paper all from my store.
I have had a crazy busy life lately with four kids, a dh, a business and housework out the roof! I thought I could catch up once the school year is over but between volunteering at various camps it is getting worse I think. I will be car-less tomorrow, so my hope is to do a little housework then do a little crafting all day long (: What is everyone else doing this summer?

Fun with Bags and Basic Grey!

I created this bag for my Secret Sister from my D.I.V.A.S. group on SCS/FACEBOOK. I have to say I love those ladies and it was a blast to spoil my SS this round. I used a Basic Grey 12x12 Kit called Wisteria and of course I sell it in my online store (: It comes with amazing papers, beautiful alphabet stickers and as you can see very pretty stickers. The sticker sheet is 12x12 so I have many more stickers left.
I love decorating plain gift bags and making them into something extra special. I think this bag took me less than 5 minutes to complete!

Popcorn The Bear for Secret Sister

Sorry about my BAD picture...it was really cold and yuck outside and I just couldn't go outside for a better picture. I had to mail this card out to my Secret Sister so no time for retakes. This is Popcorn the Bear stamp colored with Copics and covered in tan Fun Flock found in my online store. This little guy is also in stock (:
This is an inside view of this card with a little duck that comes with the set. The paper is Basic Grey.
This is a white Prima flower colored with a copic to match everything and a basic grey pearl in the middle. If you would like to learn more about our COPIC Club send me an email for more information scrapbookstoreatyourdoor@yahoo.com
Hope you enjoy this card. Let me know what you think!!!!

Thinking of You

I made this card for my Secret Sister (: One of our challenges was to create a vintage themed card. I carry Crafty Secrets stamps in my online store and Thinking of You was perfect! I colored her with Copics (also from my store) and added stickles around the edges of the cardstock. The paper is Basic Grey. I LOVE the vintage feel of this paper and the pearls are also Basic Grey. The Square scallop is a Spellbinders die.
I really like the little cat stamp that comes with this set, although I am currently in a love HATE relationship with my cat. She has decided to pee pee on a few things, ugh, including both my boys new tennis-shoes! I read online that this is an emotional cry for help....really is it? I mean her name is Princess Meow Meow and she is treated as such....emotional cry for help???? I am having an emotional cry for help washing the tennis shoes in vinegar! I may be visiting the shoe store tonight if this doesn't work. Um...... Anyone want a cat?

Popcorn The Bear Gets Married!

This is a card I created for a swap I attended for our local SCS ladies. I wanted a Valentines feel but with a wedding theme. I realized that I had tons of cards but no wedding cards! I used all supplies from my online store such as: Popcorn the Bear wedding stamp, Heart paper and Copics. I also brought Fun Flock in tan to the swap if anyone wanted to add teddy-bear texture to these cute bears. I sell all the Popcorn bears at a GREAT price so check them out.

An inside view of my card. Soufflé is a little duck that is Popcorn's friend and can be found on most of the stamp sets. Sooo cute!

The sentiments are old Stampin Up Warm Words which are still one of my favorite sets! The paper I used is K&Company Yuletide and the buttons and bling are both Basic Grey. I did distress the edges with distress ink. Fancy Pants was colored using Copics. All these items come from my online store Scrapbookstoreatyourdoor.com. Take a look if you need a break from hopping (: I am a big fan of House Mouse and many other cute animal themed stamps...I am a big kid.

Paper Bag Cookie Cookbook Fun!

I designed this cookbook for all those favorite cookie recipes that are in 10 different cookbooks so they could be consolidated into one cute yummy looking one (: The gingerbread people were "glazed" using Glossy Accents, the word Cookies was cut out with a Cricut using grocery bags! The word Cookies was distressed with Ranger Ink, "sugared" with Stickles and topped off with Liquid Pearls as "Icing" (: YUMMY! We actually made this cookbook at my SCS Christmas Crafts workshop. It's something I host every year for all my SCS friends and local customers. We make tons of Christmas gifts all day long, eat and just a have a great day.

Card Candy Fun!

I made this card candy for a food related swap on SCS. I used the Crafty Secrets stamp set Little Chef along with a few others. The paper is Apple Orchard Gingham and is double sided with apples and gingham print. I used cherry twist framers market twine for the bow on the cupcake candy. I used liquid pearls for the icing and dots around the circle. I LOVE liquid pearls and find so many uses for it! You can find most of these items in my store, so go shopping and see what's new! Scrapbookstoreatyourdoor.com
Sorry I have been MIA for some time, I should be back on track and ready to stamp (: I am also ready to fire up the Recipe Card Challenge Design Team and if you or someone you know is crazy about cooking or card making send me an example of work!
