This book was made using left over chipboard from a paper pack. I cut each sheet in half to make this book. I LOVE to alter items and especially books! I used
Stampin Up paper to complete this book. I distressed the front with chocolate chip ink and purely pomegranate ink. I made the MOM using my
cricut expression (I love my
cricut). I will add pictures of my four children before giving my mom this book on Sunday. I am planning on making my mother in law one also, using a different
Stampin Up paper pack. I believe that it is very important to use matching paper packs when making an altered book, it takes the guess work out of combining papers. I used layers of paper, punches, brads and ribbon to dress this book up. Of course it is more exciting in person because it is full of detailed texture and patterns. Let me know what you think!
*I used a scallop punch to create a place for pictures or possibly a saying. The pocket on the coordinating page will hold pictures on the tags that can be pulled out and viewed. I used a metal embellishment from making memories that reads, "the touch of a child's hand."
For the last page I wanted to create a quilt effect. I used
SU circle punch to create a line of circles and CM square punch (large) to create a quilted look. The tag on this page reads, "embrace life," I used this
sentiment to
encourage my mom that life can still be beautiful for her. We lost my dad five months ago to cancer, so I wanted to
encourage and uplift my mom with this book. I know she will feel comforted by the pictures of her grandchildren.
Let me know what you think!

Julie, this album is so beautiful! It sounds like the perfect gift for your mom!
Hi Julie! You asked on my blog what adhesive I use for my altered projects. I use a variety of adhesive depending on what I'm using it for. I LOVE my ATG gun! That works great. For tins I like to use xyron repositional adhesive. Mini glue dots for 2 dimensional things and mono multi glue to attach the big flowers to things. I hope this helps!
Wow these albums are amazing Jewels! I am impressed!
