I made this card for the Splitcoaststampers Sketch Challenge (SC190). I thought this was a great challenge, and I was excited to use my favorite spider stamp. This is a retired stampin up stamp that I still LOVE (: I just noticed that the card should have been a square...oops! I hope it's close enough (: I embossed both the black and green papers. I added an eye looking stamp to the black piece using whisper white. I cut my purple background circle with antique DS. I used a green furry type fiber to connect both pieces. I added google eyes to my spider. The inside of the card is crawling with spiders (: Hope you like this one. Today was the first day of school, but it was a half a day. My first grader asked that we walk far behind him while he walked to his classroom on his own. He questioned me several times this morning as to WHY we needed to walk him to class (LOL) I told him that it was for the scrapbook, we needed a series of pictures for his first grade intro. page(: He is SOOOO cute!
My 2nd grade daughter was more than happy to have us walk her to class and take all the scrapbook pictures needed (: She has accepted the routine (:
I still have two at home, but my youngest son will be staring Preschool next month. It is only three times a week for half a day. I am so happy that he will finally be around children his own age! Although we have a lot of children around us no one is 4 years old! He is very social, so I know he will flourish with an entire room of friends (:
My year will be really busy! I am in charge of the PTA's Christmas crafts program this year. Last year I just helped but had a blast. The school has almost 800 children in attendance so Christmas crafts night is A WILD NIGHT... not a silent night, LOL(: I really need to get into the Christmas mood, but all I want to create is Halloween/Fall items. I will be posting several Halloween cards in the next week.
Sorry for the extra long post (: Let me know what you think!!!!

Hello- love your sketch challenge card. looks great. I also love your 3-yr old stories. I can soooo relate. My daughter, who is 3 too, loves the markers and glitter and anything crafty. :)
Oh bless him! At least you got a pic as he disappeared off round the corner!
Great blog, glad I came!

Cute card and too funny about the first day of school pics! My 4th grader jumped out of the car and RAN into the school to get away from me and my camera. He was mortified to think I might take a picture of him IN FRONT OF HIS FRIENDS! LOL. My two girls that are in school were thrilled to have me taking pictures though so I contented myself with home pics of my son.
Thanks for visiting my blog!

Cute spider card. Aren't kids funny. I remember my oldests first day of kindergarten, as soon as the door opened he walked right in and never looked back to wave or anything. I cried all the way home. Now he's a senior, and I cried when he left for that first day too. Cherish these moments, they fly by.
Cute card I like the fiber and the eyes. I am not allowed anymore to take pics she will be a 5th grader! I am going to sneak them in somehow??? LOL
I LOVED the "walk behind me" comment! How crazy is that? My son is the same way---thanks for checking out my blog! It's always a treat to have people visit! Love the Halloween card---I haven't done one card yet!
I love it! How exciting for your kids to start school. That's great that your daughter knows the scrapbook mom routine : ) That pic you took is priceless.
I love Halloween too! I love the embossing and googly eyes on your card.
Good luck getting back into a routine. I could use one too.
Julie - your picture and story had me cracking up! My DD started 1st grade this year - I was allowed to take pictures at home - but not at the bus stop or in front of her friends- "I'm too big for this mom - I'm not a kindergarten baby anymore" Those were her exact words. I love the card too - the googly eyes get me every time! See you next month?
