Tagging Fun!

I was tagged!

I was tagged by Dragana Skoro at Happy Inker. Check out her Blog if you want to see some amazing cards (: Thank you Dragana for tagging me. Now I have to tell you 7 things about myself. The rules are to link your tagger and the list of rules on your Blog. Share 7 facts about yourself on your Blog, some random, some weird. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and leave them a message letting them know they have been tagged.
Just The Facts:
1. I met my husband at Vacation Bible School when we were children, and I liked him up until he asked me on a date when I was 19 and then I fell in love with him. We have been married for 11 years this December.
2. We have four beautiful children ages 3, 5, 6 and 8 years old. I was really great with babies but am finding my life with four children really challenging now. I wish I were more organized and felt more in control of my life.
3. I lost my grandma to cancer when I was 16 and my father to cancer when I was 32 (last year). Cancer has also taken the lives of many other family members including great grandma's. None of my family smokes or lives an unhealthy life style...maybe I should start (: I only pray that I don't get it before my children are grown.
4. Number 3 is what prompted me to start my own business. I decided after my dad's passing that if I really wanted to do something I should go for it. After months of preparation I opened Scrapbook Store at Your Door. It probably wasn't the best time to go through all the stress of starting a business while grieving, but I always take on too much. I am now very happy and very scared concerning my business daily.
5. I was a Special Education Teacher before I had my children. I specialized in Autism. I was severely bitten on my chin the fist day of work. I was 22 and looked 16, so I was so embarrassed of my black & blue chin the first few weeks of school. I soon proved that I knew what I was doing and I was sent out to consult and observe at many schools. I worked for three years before I had my daughter. I have been a SAHM for 8 years now.
6. We purchased a pop-up camper this summer and we have had so much fun going out of town every month. Our pop-up has a slide out (very roomy), a air conditioner and heating, a full kitchen, bathroom and a pretty decor. I was very happy when my husband showed me this camper. I was really hating camping after we tent camped last May. My youngest son kept getting ticks in terrible places! It was really uncomfortable for me. I would like to take it to a scrapbook or stamping convention with friends. It has a really large table (for crafting) and electricity for my cricut (: We are going out of town this October (:
7. I lost around 30-40 pounds on the South Beach plan and have kept it off for almost two years now! I gained 10 pounds each time I had a baby, and I nursed all my children so I didn't diet. I am now on maintenance Phase 3 and find it a very easy lifestyle to maintain because I can have the "good stuff" at times and still maintain. I also know how to modify all my favorite foods to fit the plan.
This is a little about me and I would love to read all about you, so instead of tagging only a few Blogging friends I tag everyone who reads my Blog! If you are up to playing along, please let me know you are playing. I love to learn about all my friends in Blogging Land (:
Let me know what you think about my crazy self (:

Super 5!

Today is the day we will celebrate our son's birthday! His real birthday is on Monday so we will probably take him to Chucky Cheese or a play center with just us. I made these spider man treat bags for his preschool class. I used my Cricut/ Paper Dolls cartridge to cut the little spider man guys (: If I had to suggest one cartridge for images, paper dolls would be it. It has so many wonderful special features (images not listed on the back but in the book) for every holiday! Trust me you will love it. Anyway, I am bringing the snack today so Tom picked out Cinnamon Shoolbook Cookies from Trader Joe's. I love giving these delicious cookies for school parties, teacher gifts or kids birthdays. My kids have so much fun spelling words with them...shh don't tell them they are educational (: I am also sending in these alphabet fruit snacks from Betty Crocker. I found them at our local Sam's Club and I thought they would go well with the ABC cookies.
I won't be able to create anything today ): because my house is in need of some TLC before the birthday party tonight. If you are however taking a break from housework or work, take a look at my online store and place an order (: Your package will be mailed out tomorrow, and I will add in a special gift just for ordering this weekend. Ornamental Mondo!

This is a card I made for the inspiration challenge 146 on SCS. The inspiration came from a set of dishes called Mondo. I was immediately drawn to the plate with a turquoise pattern. I am not sure what happened to my picture because I stamped on white cardstock, it looks brown ): I used a beautiful stamp set by BoBunny called Ornamental. This stamp set has several stamps. I also added a little bling with Glitz Frosting. The embrace life stamp is Stampin Up. I distressed the edges with pearl paint. If you love this stamp set as much as I do check out my store HERE

Apple Love!!!!

I love Fall and all the goodies it brings with it! Caramel apples are one of my favorite fall treats (: I had this idea to take my children (all 4 of them) to the store to get apples and caramel. I had envisioned an excited and grateful group of children, (clearly a fantasy). What really happened was protests and fights all the way to the store, inside the store and again at home! It wasn't until they saw me making the apples that they decided to be civilized, and join in on the fall fun (: We did have fun making these, I purchased caramel ready to wrap around the apples! This was really easy for my three and four year old to do, because the caramel comes in a flat circle, sheets of five. It is not sticky and is easy to peal out of its wrapper. After the children added caramel to ten apples (I bought two caramel packages of 5) I baked them for 5 minutes in a 200 degree oven. They looked really great when they were done and we had eaten them by the next morning!!!!! It turned out fun in the end and the children were proud of their apples (:
This is a card I am bringing to the St. Louis shoebox swap this Saturday. It was inspired by my favorite treat (: I made this little treat by using my cricut. I cut the apple out twice using a sheet of 12x12 red and a sheet of brown paper (one sheet cuts 4 apples on setting 5). I used thick clear embossing powder on the caramel and I rubbed stickels over the caramel to give it a yummy glow (:
The back is stamped with a Stampin Up stamp and reads love ya bunches.
I made this paper bag card using the new stamp set Whimsical Autumn designed by Carolyn King at My Blog. This stamp set can be purchased on Gina K Designs website and it will benefit the Alzheimer's research. Carolyn recently lost her Grandmother to this awful illness, so go support her effort and buy this amazing stamp set! You will also want to check out her blog for the largest Blog candy in the Universe (: This is also a benefit.

I made this card using Bo Bunny paper and Cricut die cuts. This is a paper bag card.

Okay, I have decided to make my Big Announcement today! My Saturday

This is the file box and past craft box for the Christmas Craft's program at my children's school. I am the chair for this PTA event this year. I am so excited and a little nervous (: I am speaking at the PTA meeting Monday, and hopefully drum up support for this FUN event. Our school has 780 children in attendance so this is a crazy fun night. If anyone has a great Christmas craft idea (suitable for children) I would be so thrilled if you would send me a link or email me your ideas at specialcraftmom@gmail.com
This cute note pad came in the mail today for me. This is the first blog candy for me, and it is from Just Judy . This is the perfect note pad  to take to the coffee shop, so I can brainstorm ideas (: I guess you are wondering what ideas...I'll tell you soon (:
Anyway, this notepad has made my day so go check out Judy's Blog (:

Fall Into Coffee

I made this card today for the SCS LSC184 called Orange Roasters. This challenge was inspired by fall and a good cup of joe. I love both of these things so this was a challenge for me. We had to use a coffee image and the color orange. I created the coffee cup and sentiment on my cricut. They were sprayed with shimmer mist spray (I think that's the name). I highlighted the coffee and steam with stickels and added two coffee beans in place of brads.
I will be giving this card to my Aunt for her birthday. She is a real coffee head also (: This was a real simple card but that is all I have had time for lately ): Hope to find more crafting time in my schedule soon.
